The problem
Big cities are scaling up, and the number of cars is growing rapidly. The ability to own a vehicle is becoming easier for many people living and working in large cities. However, taxis are not always a solution due to their limitation in transporting only 1 or 2 passengers. Buses and trams follow fixed routes and are large moving objects with limitations in urban spaces.
The vision
Learning from small wheel-based vehicles such as Smart or Fiat 500, we envisioned an autonomous mini taxi capable of navigating flexibly, entering narrow streets, and providing passengers with a lounge environment during their travel. Simultaneously, the car would be shared, and with its design appearance, it would seamlessly blend into any urban environment in a friendly manner.
With digital light technologies, the vehicle is communicating with the outside environment, such as other cars and pedestrians.
The structure
The construction of the vehicle is based on an electric car, commonly referred to as a 'skateboard' platform. The chargeable and swappable batteries are located at the bottom of the vehicle to enhance stability and weight distribution.
Safety first
Protecting passengers beneath the transparent shell, there is the 'skeleton' of the main body, which shields passengers from external impacts. To achieve a spacious interior, the construction is designed as a biomorphic frame to reduce weight while maintaining rigidity.
The lounge
Upon entering the interior, passengers will experience a lounge environment with natural and recycled materials, creating a minimalistic yet functional space. The divider in the middle ensures privacy between passengers. The transparency of the outer shell allows passengers to enjoy a 360-degree view of the city.
